Kate Tullio joined the department in Fall 2017 as a Craig Fellow.


Kate graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in German Language and Literature. Her academic interests include 19th and 20th century philosophy, aesthetic theory, German modernism and gender theory.

Christiane Fischer joined the department in Fall 2016 as a Craig Fellow.



Christiane graduated from University of Vienna in spring 2016 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature. During her studies she also focused on Art History and Aesthetic Theory. Her first honours thesis explored the concept of metafiction in Laurence Sterne’s novel Tristram Shandy and its constructing function for the narrative. The second thesis outlined several contributions of Dante Alighieri’s literary reception in early 20 th century Germany.

Thomas Wallerberger joined the department in Fall 2017 as an Excellence Fellow.

-Miscellaneous internships in social services

-Vice president of the Austrian national union of students

-Member of the advisory board of the NGO and debate club 'Republikanischer Club'

-Freelance journalist; literary texts, book reviews and journalistic articles dealing with exile topics (Augustin, Literatur und Kritik, Die Presse, Wiener Zeitung, Zwischenwelt)

-Research assistant in the Theodor Kramer publishing house of exile literature

-Pedagogue in an institute for unaccompanied refugee minors

Teaching Experience:
