- Literature of the Goethe-Zeit and 20th Century German literature
- The development of the term Heimat in German speaking countries throughout the 20th Century in literature, film and art.

Personal Interests: |

- If she had time, Julia would probably enjoy black & white photography, painting and crafts, reading, and spending more time with her husband.
