  Rebecca Steele came to Rutgers in the fall of 2003 as a part-time student in the MAT program, and became a full-time Ph.D. student in the fall of 2004.
   
Education and Background:
  • B.A. in Business and Finance from the Leibniz-Akademie in Hannover, Germany
  • Financial Analyst for six years with a German bank
Academic Interests:
  • The role of women in 18th- and 19th-century German literature
  • The interconnections between history and literature, especially looking at what role, if any, literature plays in shaping or changing society
Personal Interests:

Swimming, reading, sewing and crafts.
