Dr. Sarah Pourciau (Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung Berlin)

Dr. Pourciau works on 19th- and 20th-century German and Austrian culture, the history of philosophy and its relationship to literature, the roots of contemporary literary theory, German-Jewish intellectual history, and the history of music. Her publications include The Writing of Spirit: Soul, System and the Roots of Language Science (Fordham UP, 2017) and articles on Schoenberg, Hofmannstahl, Kleist, Heidegger, Adorno, and Auerbach. She is currently completing a second book, The Broken Medium: Austrian Modernism and the Theory of the Event.
