Artun Ak joined the department in Fall 2021 as an Excellence and Presidential Fellow. His dissertation is on the "returns of nature" in Weimar film culture, as seen in works by Reinert, Murnau, Brecht/Dudow, and others. Recently, he has published an article on Kafka as media history in Humanities, and he occasionally reviews books for Reading in Translation (some examples can be found here and here).
